THE BASICS

HWT is committed to providing high-quality, competitive health benefits for eligible employees and their family. Medical, Dental and Vision insurance starts the first day of the month following your start date.
MEDICAL: Employees choose from one of three plan choices through BlueCross BlueShield’s Carefirst Program. Each of these plans includes medical & prescription benefits.

DENTAL COVERAGE: HWT’s dental insurance carrier is Denex Dental. Preventative services are 100% covered if you use an in-network provider.

VISION COVERAGE: Vision coverage is available through one of two ways. If enrolled in Denex Dental a vision service is also included. If selecting a PPO Plan with BlueCross BlueShield you may also take advantage of CareFirst’s vision plan.

PROTECTION INSURANCES: We don’t want you to stress about unlikely “what ifs”. HWT provides long and short term disability insurance policies, at no cost to the employee, to take care of you and your family in the event of lost wages if you become unable to work. And all employees receive a fully paid life insurance policy based on the equivalent of their annual salaries up to $50,000. As an added feature to the life insurance policy, employees have access to emergency medical assistance while you travel.

FLEX SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA): HWT gives eligible employees the option of enrolling in a flexible spending account program. This program allows employees to set aside pretax dollars to be used for medical expenses, such as co-pays, lab fees and any other eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses, and dependent care services.

WORK LIFE BALANCE

PAID TIME OFF (PTO): HWT understands the importance of taking time away from work to rest and relax. During the first two years of service, employees receive 14 days of PTO per year, accrued per pay period starting with your date of hire. After your second year, this increases to 16 days per year, after five years, 19 days; after ten years, 22 days; after fifteen years, 25 days. PTO encompasses vacation, personal, and sick leave.

FLEX SCHEDULING: To help employees balance work, life, and family, HWT offers the flexibility of working more on certain days to balance days when they are not in the office for part of the day. Flexible scheduling may occasionally be used for things like scheduling a doctor’s visit, attending a parent/child meeting at your child’s school, a few hours at home caring for a sick family member or recuperating yourself.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP): Employees have access to a confidential counseling service for personal issues that may arise. The program offers up to five face to face sessions per issue, at no per session charge to the employee. This program also provides access to legal consultation services, financial consultants, estate guidance and professionals who can assist you with elder care, education, adoption and relocation referrals.

FINANCIAL

COMPENSATION: HWT offers competitive wages. We want our team to work hard and be comfortable that they are being rewarded in return. Salary may increase with annual performance reviews. In addition, all employees are eligible for discretionary bonuses that are typically awarded each year.

401(k) PLAN: HWT offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in their 401(k) Plan. Employees may make an elective deferral up to 100% of compensation in any calendar year that does not exceed the annual dollar amount permitted by law. HWT may also a contribute 3% of annual salary into the plan at the end of each calendar year for eligible employees. HWT’s contributions are subject to a vesting schedule.

Our goal is to keep relationships at all levels of the company collegial, informal and very productive.
