Dear Friends,

This new year, 2010, brings ever more changes and opportunities for innovation and creative problem solving. You as teachers and specialists excel at this and are always doing great new things. We're proud to continue supporting your efforts and creativity. You already know us for excellent, affordable materials and training. Our commitment to developmentally based, active, joyful learning and high standards continues, just as yours does. We are excited that we have new products and ways to help you.

We continue our focus on early education, helping young children become good learners. Of course, we also focus on handwriting. That's why we're pleased to introduce our free Screener of Handwriting Proficiency. Try the Screener in your classroom or practice and see how easy it is to assess individual students or the whole class. The Screener is easy to administer and provides a snapshot of your students’ skills—as well as suggestions for remediation—in just minutes.

To see more of our new products and resources, please visit the HWT site. You can watch a how-to video, participate in an online seminar, or visit the Learning Lounge for ideas and downloads that can help you achieve more with less.

Best wishes for a successful and rewarding new year!

Jan Z. Olsen

P.S. Visit the Handwriting Standards site to learn more about handwriting standards and the latest developments in the Common Core State Standards initiative. We hope you will join us in handwriting advocacy!
