Dear Friends,
With summer break just around the corner, this is a good time to reflect on the past year, its challenges and successes. As a parting gift, think of what will help your students right now and over the summer. Also, think of next year’s children and what you’ll want for them.
Although there isn’t always as much time as you would like in the classroom to remediate writing problems, there is help. Tutoring, in or out of school, helps students who struggle with handwriting issues and those who could benefit from the extra practice and continuity. In this issue, we explore the role of tutoring and provide resources and take-away materials for educators and parents.
I’ve always believed in the importance of foundation skills and building them with multisensory learning materials and teacher modeling. That is why I am delighted to introduce Sentence School™. Sentence School is a hands-on sentence building program that teaches kindergarten children the skills they need to become skilled, confident writers in every subject. Download sample pages to see how you can use word cards and simple props to bring words and sentences to life.
