Dear Friends,
We've been on the road and around the world! I have just returned from El Salvador where I had the opportunity to train and meet some wonderful people. In the meantime, our National Presenters have been making forays in Ireland, Costa Rica, and Canada. We're also reaching children in the Caribbean, the Middle East, and the South Pacific.
Why this level of global interest? Because handwriting is a functional skill and part of the broader literacy spectrum that spans from Pre-K to adulthood. Writing mastery depends on a consistent teaching approach, handwriting proficiency, and building abilities for students of all ages.
You can inspire children to like writing and to write well. Read "The Journey to Write: A Roadmap for Successful Writing" for new strategies and activities to encourage children's writing at all grade levels. Also, be sure to visit The Write Stuff and download the exciting new writing activities that we've created for children from Pre-K through grade 5. Look for Famous Faces. This is a fun summer activity that children can do at home, in summer school, or during their handwriting and other summer camps. The activity features drawing, writing, and meeting new people. Famous Faces is a novel way to develop children's functional handwriting, sentence, and vocabulary skills.
Regards,
