Hello,
Thank you for helping me to help the children I work with. Your ideas are always so fun that children love to participate!!!
Deborah Lucero, COTA/L
Are the instructions for this month's Write Stuff activity sheets in the new materials? Since I don't have the new materials, could you add them to your newsletter so all of us with the older materials could use them?

Thanks,
Charlotte
I live in the northern VA area. Are there any workshops in the area I can attend?
Hi Tobey,
You can find all the workshops in the Northern VA, DC, MD area on our website. We have workshops coming up in DC: http://ws.hwtears.com/product/1308/237

I hope that helps.
Hi Charlotte:

The new materials do include more activities and strategies for teaching. However, many of the downloads you see here are new. With the exception of the Traffic Light Activities--which are intuitive--all downloads come with instructions.

Hope that helps!
Thank you for putting back the fun in learning to write. Your handwriting without tears curriculum is user friendly and age appropriate. The CD is amazing. The activities and strategies make lesson planning so much easier to undertake.
My students really enjoy Mat Man.
I love the HWT program, my children ask me everyday if they can work in their workbooks. We have really enjoyed the Mat Man. I just ordered the Mat Man Hats. Thank you for your program.
My kids absolutely LOVE Mat Man (they think I am saying Batman). I am so excited about the new books and cannot wait to use them with my students. I have the shapes made out of foam pieces for us to interchange when doing Mat Man Shapes and I am going to make the hats as well. This is a fantastic program and teaches writing without frustration!
My kids love mat man- what a great program!
Thanks for the printable activities. They are great. I shared them with everyone in my OT department. I am using them with my son as well as at work. Thanks again!!
I have seen the most unbelievable before and after results from Mat Man. The kids love when make Mat Man and so do all the teachers.
I am so excited to be using the HWT program. The Mat Man is a big hit. The students get the concepts and it is so much FUN!
Thanks for such an awesome program that WORKS!
I am going to use the downloads on our Smart Board and show teachers where to find the downloads.
The principal of my School wasnts me to teach a basic lesson to the Kindergarteners in september. The goal is to avoid unnecessary referrals and ge the teachers and kids started with a "Right way" to write.Any suggestions for such a half hour lesson plan would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sonali Khatri OTR/L
Hi Sonali,

In response to your question, I want to refer you to our advocate site which has lots of great information on how to get started and teaching others about handwriting. The site contains a variety of in-service handouts that should be very helpful for developing a half hour kindergarten lesson plan. The Teach Others about Handwriting section has a number of wonderful resources, including a listing of "The Eight Key Components of Handwriting”. Here is the link to our advocate site: http://www.hwtears.com/advocate/.

We would be happy to help you with any additional inquiries. If you wish to learn more about our products or receive a Handwriting Without Tears sample set please feel free to send me your e-mail address to juliana.guzman@hwtears.com.

I hope this helps.
Help! Was attempting to subscribe to the newsletter....was typing in the words as asked, but nothing was happening. Please let me know how I can subscribe.
Hi Laura,
I have added your AOL e-mail address to the newsletter’s subscription list so you’re all set!

I am unable to locate the HWT teacher guide for helping to identify specific handwriting problems - "monument grasp" etc.
Could you direct me?
Thanks
Can you send me the weblink to where you can draw matman on the computer. I can't find it on your website anymore. thanks
madge
Hi, Madge--We have created a resource section just for Mat Man, called Mat Man World! At www.hwtears.com/matman, you will find the online Build Mat Man game, as well as other activities and research related to using Mat Man to help teach children body awareness, counting skills and so much more. Hi. Is it possible to download blank writing lines from Printing Power from your site? I would like to put them up on my Smartboard during Handwriting instruction. Thanks for your help.

Monica
I love this program. I worked with "special needs" children (multihandicapped) in a regular ed school. This program helped many of them learn letters / write / etc. and I have been using part of it for pre-k for a couple of years. however I could not find the boards and made them from paper, thank you for this web site. i found it accidently and ordered several of your materials and hoping to order more. I also plan to attend February 25, seminar if at all possible , thanks again. Barb Mahanovich
Where do I go to access information on how to use the HWT curriculum with smart board? Thanks, Lisa
I have fallen in love with the entire curriculum and am trying to get my materials together to start the literacy and math curriculums this fall. Cand I order Mix & Make Shapes from your website?
That's not even 10 mnitues well spent!
Way to use the internet to help pepole solve problems!
Went to your workshop in Tampa on 1/6/12. Already see a HUGE difference in my children's drawings since using Mat Man. The children love playing with Mat Man during work time. Thanks so much for these wonderful materials and teaching tools.
Do you have any pictures of the alphabet letters printed on the slate boards? I would like to hang the letters on slates around the preschool classroom so the students see the slate letter examples every day. Thanks!
We use Handwriting Without Tears in our preschool class and it is wonderful. I'm so glad there is this website to give us fresh ideas to keep our kids interested in learning.
